Edward Packer was originally an employee of Fry’s who set up his own chocolate business called Packer & Co in 1881.

The business was close to Edward’s home in Armoury Square, Easton and his first employees were his nephew, brother and sister.  As trade increased Edward took on 13 year old Lily Brown, and moved to larger premises in St Pauls.

Edward only owned the company he set up for five years, but the Packer name was in use until 1962 .
