Theobald, Archbishop of Canterbury, issued this charter to confirm Turstin of Bristol as priest of St Ewen, one of Bristol's earliest churches. Theobald threatened anyone who might interfere with damnation, which gave rise to the charter being known as the 'Curse of St Ewen'
